Sebenza Women Awards empowers the youth, preserving the future.

The annual Sebenza Women Awards, an event focused on rewarding women excellence and showcasing their brilliance, strength and achievements has once again opened its doors for another round of nominations. This year we honor leaders, innovators and game-changers doing exceptional work in society, from various fields, and sectors, and provide a helping hand to those struggling to make ends meet.

Mr Kini Shandu, the Sebenza Women Awards founder and managing director announced on Friday 12 June that from the 16th of June, all ladies should join the empowering initiative by sending their bios and profiles to info@sebenzaawards.co.za  or answer an online questionnaire available at www.sebenzaawards.co.za and stand a chance to gain positive recognition, exposure, media attention and win amazing prizes.

‘We will be expecting applications from all women in different fields and sectors, from science, law, finances to agriculture, sports, arts and culture, as well as other unmentioned categories. We encourage all women to participate in this empowering initiative’ Shandu added. This event also pays special attention to the youth, game-changers, women from disadvantaged communities striving to make the world a better place, more especially for others.

In a country where women have been previously disadvantaged, these awards aim to identify, shine the spotlight, and reward female leaders, innovators, game changers and change makers. ‘Our objective is to empower women, we encourage them to do better and increases their employ-ability chances and the fair participation for economic opportunities’, Shandu concluded.

The president of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa announced on the 15th of March 2020 among other things, the prohibition of large gatherings, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, unlike in 2019 where the Sebenza Awards physically took place in Durban, this year it will be different. All activities will be carried out through various online platforms such as Social Media; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Sebenza YouTube channel, Web-based seminars, television, and radio.
